Strawberry Smoothie Recipe with Fresh Berries and Yogurt

  • Author: Elina Mirkle
  • Total Time: 5 minutes
  • Yield: 2 servings 1x
  • Diet: General

Description

A vibrant and creamy strawberry smoothie, perfect for a quick, nutritious, and family-friendly breakfast or energy boost. It is made with fresh or frozen berries and yogurt.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups fresh or frozen strawberries (approx. 280g), for natural sweetness and vibrant color
  • 0.5 cup Greek yogurt (approx. 120g), for creamy texture and a high-protein boost (or regular plain yogurt)
  • 0.5 cup milk (approx. 120ml) (dairy or non-dairy), for smooth blending and perfect consistency (almond milk or oat milk are excellent dairy-free options)
  • 12 tsp honey or maple syrup (optional), adjust to taste
  • 0.5 cup ice (optional, approx. 70g), for extra chill and thickness, especially with fresh berries

Instructions

  1. Combine Ingredients: Add strawberries, Greek yogurt, milk, and sweetener (if using) to your blender.
  2. Blend Until Smooth: Secure the lid and blend on high for 1-2 minutes until it feels creamy. If it looks lumpy, add a splash more milk and blend longer. For a thicker Strawberry Smoothie, use only frozen berries.
  3. Adjust Consistency: Add more milk if too thick, or more ice/frozen berries if too thin.
  4. Serve Immediately: Pour into glasses and enjoy!

Notes

Use peak-season ripe or frozen strawberries for best flavor and thickness. Adjust consistency by adding more milk for a thinner smoothie, or ice/frozen berries for a thicker one. Dairy-free coconut or soy yogurt works well for plant-based diets.
