- 2 tbsp olive oil

- 2 lemons, one sliced for grilling, one for juice and zest (or use bottled lemon juice)
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 0.25 cup fresh parsley or dill, chopped
- Salt, to taste
- Freshly ground black pepper, to taste
Instructions
- Prepare Trout: Pat fillets dry. Brush with olive oil; season generously with salt and pepper.
- Prepare Lemon Butter Sauce: In a small saucepan, melt butter. Stir in minced garlic, lemon juice, and zest. Keep warm.
- Preheat Grill: Preheat grill to medium-high (400°F / 200°C). Lightly oil grates.
- Grill Trout: Place fillets skin-down. Cook 4-6 min per side until opaque, flaking easily at 145°F (63°C).
Notes
To avoid overcooking, use a thermometer to check for 145°F (63°C). Ensure grill grates are clean and well-oiled to prevent sticking. Always season the fish directly for best flavor. For faster cooking, pan-sear for 3-4 minutes per side or air fry at 375°F (190°C) for 10-14 minutes.
