  • 45g (3 tbsp) Unsalted Butter (for caramel): Adds richness to the caramel.
  • 60ml (¼ cup) Heavy Cream (for caramel): Creates a smooth caramel sauce.
  • ½ tsp Flaky Sea Salt (for caramel and garnish): Balances caramel sweetness.
  • 2 tbsp (≈15g) Toasted Almond Slivers (for garnish): Adds crunch and visual appeal.

Instructions

  1. Preheat & Prepare: Preheat oven to 180°C (350°F) and line a 23 x 33 cm (9 x 13-inch) pan with parchment paper.
  2. Combine Dry Ingredients: Whisk together flour, oats, almond flour, brown sugar, cinnamon, cardamom, nutmeg, and salt.
  3. Incorporate Butter: Mix in melted butter until crumbly.
  4. Divide Crumble: Divide the crumble mixture in half, setting aside half for topping.
  5. Press Base: Press remaining crumble into the prepared pan.
  6. Prepare Apple Filling: Toss sliced apples with lemon juice, granulated sugar, and vanilla extract.
