These buffalo chicken sliders with Fiery Orange Drizzle are a family-favorite weeknight meal, perfect for busy families or game day. They transform simple ingredients into a craveable feast with tangy buffalo sauce and sweet citrus notes.
Ingredients
- 1 lb cooked chicken, shredded
- 12–16 slider buns
- 0.5 cup buffalo sauce
- 2 tbsp unsalted butter, melted
- 0.25 cup orange juice
- 2 tbsp honey or maple syrup
- 0.25 cup blue cheese crumbles or shredded cheddar (optional)
- Ranch or blue cheese dressing, for serving
- Celery sticks, for serving
- Carrot sticks, for serving
Instructions
- Prep The Chicken: If your chicken isnt already shredded, pull or chop the cooked meat into small, even pieces. Aim for uniform shreds so every bite is tender.
- Mix The Filling: In a medium bowl, combine the shredded chicken with the buffalo sauce. Stir until all chicken pieces are evenly coated and vibrant orange. If using cheese inside the sliders, stir it in now for a gooey center.
- Assemble The Sliders: Slice the entire package of slider buns horizontally. Place the bottom halves in a 9×13 inch baking dish. Spread the buffalo chicken mixture evenly over the bottom buns, reaching the edges. Place the top halves of the buns securely over the chicken filling.
- Make The Fiery Orange Drizzle: In a small microwave-safe bowl, combine the melted butter, orange juice, and honey (or maple syrup). Whisk until smooth and glossy. Gently brush this unique drizzle generously over the tops of the slider buns.
- Bake To Perfection: Bake in a preheated oven at 375°F (190°C) until the buns are golden brown and the cheese (if added) is melted and bubbly. The buns should smell toasty and feel slightly firm when lightly pressed.
Notes
For a faster meal, use pre-shredded rotisserie chicken and pre-cut buns. Sliders can be assembled the night before. To prevent soggy buns, lightly toast them before adding filling.
