Description

This carrot juice recipe made with a blender is a vibrant, zesty, and sweet drink that’s easy to prepare and packed with nutrition. It’s an energizing and immune-boosting beverage perfect for busy mornings and a healthy, family-friendly option.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 450 g carrots, about 45 medium
  • 15 g fresh ginger, 1-inch piece, peeled
  • 1 to 1.5 cups cold water
  • (Optional) 1 orange
  • (Optional) a pinch of turmeric
  • (Optional) 1 apple
  • (Optional) a small handful spinach or kale

Instructions

  1. Prep Your Produce: Wash 4-5 medium carrots thoroughly (no need to peel if organic and well-scrubbed), then roughly chop them into 1-inch pieces. Peel and slice a 1-inch piece of fresh ginger into thin pieces.
  2. Blend It Up: Add chopped carrots, sliced ginger, and 1 cup of cold water to your blender. Blend on high until the mixture is completely smooth (about 2-3 minutes). Gradually add up to 0.5 cup more water until your desired pourable consistency is reached.
  3. Strain for Smoothness: Place a fine-mesh sieve over a large bowl or use a nut milk bag. Pour the blended mixture through, using the back of a spoon to firmly press out all the juice. Discard the pulp or save it for other recipes. (Skip this step for a quicker, fiber-rich drink.)
  4. Serve And Enjoy: Pour the freshly made drink into glasses and serve immediately, perhaps over ice.

Notes

Use firm, unblemished carrots for best flavor. Adjust ginger spiciness (0.5 to 2 inches) to your preference. Filtered water is recommended for the cleanest taste. To save time, use a pre-chopped bag of carrots. Save the remaining pulp for other recipes like muffins or vegetable broth bases. This recipe is naturally dairy-free and vegan. To reduce carbohydrates, omit any optional apple or orange additions.
