  • 2 packages instant chocolate pudding mix (3.9 oz or 111g each)
  • 1 package cherry gelatin mix (3 oz or 85g)
  • 1 cup boiling water (240ml)

Instructions

  1. Prepare The Crust: Crush the Oreo cookies finely. In a medium bowl, mix 0.5 cup of melted butter with the cookie crumbs until well combined. Press this mixture firmly into the bottom of a 9×13 inch baking dish. Refrigerate to chill for at least 15 minutes.
  2. Make The Cream Cheese Layer: In a large bowl, beat the softened cream cheese with 1.5 cups of powdered sugar and 0.5 cup of milk until smooth and creamy. Gently fold in about 1.5 cups of the thawed Cool Whip until just combined and light. Spread this creamy layer evenly over the chilled cookie crust. Refrigerate for another 20-30 minutes.
  3. Whip Up The Chocolate Pudding Layer: In a separate bowl, whisk together the two packages of instant chocolate pudding mix with 2.5 cups of milk until it thickens (about 2 minutes). Gently fold in another 1.5 cups of Cool Whip until the mixture is light and mousse-like. Spread this smooth chocolate layer over the set cream cheese layer. Chill for at least 30 minutes.
  4. Create The Cherry Stripe Frosting: In a small bowl, dissolve the cherry gelatin mix in 1 cup of boiling water, stirring until no granules remain. Let it cool slightly (about 10-15 minutes). Carefully drizzle or pipe thin stripes of the cherry mixture over the set chocolate pudding layer, leaving gaps for the final whipped topping. Chill for an additional 30 minutes until the cherry stripes are firm and glossy.
  5. Finish With Whipped Topping: Gently spread the remaining Cool Whip over the cherry striped layer, being careful not to disturb the stripes. Chill the entire chocolate lasagna for at least 4 hours, or ideally overnight, for the best setting and easiest slicing.
