Description

Rich, creamy chocolate truffles made with dark chocolate, cream, and butter — perfect for gifting or indulgent treats.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 250g dark chocolate, finely chopped
  • 120ml heavy cream
  • 25g butter
  • Cocoa powder, espresso powder, vanilla extract, or peppermint extract (optional flavor additions)
  • Cocoa powder, finely chopped nuts, shredded coconut, or crushed biscuits (for coating)

Instructions

  1. Chop and Melt Chocolate – Finely chop the dark chocolate and melt in a heatproof bowl over simmering water or microwave in short bursts.
  2. Heat Cream – Warm the heavy cream until just about to simmer, then pour over the melted chocolate.
  3. Stir in Butter and Flavorings – Add the butter and any flavor additions; stir until smooth.
  4. Chill Ganache – Cover and refrigerate for about 2 hours until firm.
  5. Roll into Balls – Scoop small portions and roll gently between palms.
  6. Coat as Desired – Roll in cocoa, nuts, coconut, or dip in melted chocolate.
  7. Store in Airtight Container – Keep in a cool spot or refrigerate; bring to room temperature before serving.

Notes

  • For a dairy-free version, replace cream with coconut milk and butter with vegan butter.
  • Truffles can be stored in the fridge for up to 2 weeks or frozen for up to 3 months.
  • When gifting, use paper candy cups and small boxes for presentation.
