Description
This easy cinnamon honey butter recipe transforms ordinary butter into an irresistible creamy, spiced spread, perfect for busy families or special brunches, adding a touch of magic without fuss.
Ingredients
Scale
- 226 g (1 cup) unsalted butter, softened to room temperature
- 80 g (0.25 cup) light-colored honey
- 5 g (1 teaspoon) ground cinnamon
- 2.5 g (0.5 teaspoon) ground green cardamom
- 5 g (1 teaspoon) orange zest (from 1 medium orange)
- 1 g (0.25 teaspoon) fine sea salt
- 30 g (0.25 cup) shelled, unsalted pistachios
Instructions
- Toast Pistachios: In a dry small skillet over medium heat, toast shelled pistachios for 3-5 minutes, stirring until fragrant and lightly golden. Cool, then coarsely chop for garnish.
- Whip Butter: In a medium mixing bowl, beat softened unsalted butter on medium speed for 3-4 minutes until light, pale, and fluffy, scraping down the sides as needed.
- Combine Flavors: Add honey, cinnamon, cardamom, orange zest, and sea salt to the whipped butter. Beat on medium speed for 2-3 minutes until uniformly light and airy. Scrape bowl.
- Serve & Garnish: Transfer the cinnamon honey butter to a serving bowl. Swirl with a spoon, then evenly sprinkle toasted pistachio crumble for texture and color.
Notes
If using salted butter, omit any extra added salt in the recipe. Maple syrup can be used as a vegan alternative to honey. For a healthier twist, consider reducing the honey. If your butter looks stiff, it is likely too cold; let it sit a few minutes, then re-whip until smooth and fluffy. Store covered in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks.
