- 240ml (1 cup) Heavy Cream
- 150g (5 oz) Cheddar Cheese, grated
- 30g (2 Tbsp) Unsalted Butter
- 30g (¼ cup) All-Purpose Flour
- 1 Medium Onion, diced
- 2 Cloves Garlic, minced
- 1 tsp (5 ml) Dijon Mustard
- ½ tsp (2.5 ml) Black Pepper
- ½ tsp (2.5 ml) Sea Salt
- ¼ tsp (1 ml) Nutmeg
- 1 Tbsp (15 ml) Lemon Juice
- 1 Tbsp (15 ml) Olive Oil
- 2 Tbsp (15g) Sliced Almonds, toasted
- Fresh Parsley, chopped
Instructions
- Season Chicken: Combine chicken with salt, pepper, and paprika.
- Sear Chicken: Brown chicken in olive oil in batches.
- Sauté Aromatics: Sauté onion and garlic in butter.
- Create Roux: Stir in flour to form a roux.
- Build Sauce: Whisk in broth and cream, simmer until thickened.
- Flavor Infusion: Stir in mustard, nutmeg, and lemon juice.
- Combine & Crockpot: Add sauce, broccoli, and chicken to crockpot.
- Slow Cook: Cook on low for 6-7 hours or high for 3-4 hours.
