- 60 ml (¼ cup) honey (light floral)
- 80 ml (⅓ cup) low-sodium soy sauce
- 4 cloves garlic, minced (≈20 g / 0.7 oz)
- 1 tbsp (15 ml) ginger, grated (≈15 g / 0.5 oz)
- 2 tbsp (30 ml) apple cider vinegar
- 1 tbsp (15 ml) sesame oil
- ½ tsp (2.5 ml) smoked paprika
- ¼ tsp (1.25 ml) black pepper
- 1 tbsp (8 g) cornstarch + 2 tbsp (30 ml) water
- 2 tbsp (30 ml) water
- 2 green onions, sliced (≈15 g / 0.5 oz)
- 1 tsp (5 g) sesame seeds, toasted
- ½ tsp (2.5 ml) chili flakes (optional)
Instructions
- Prepare Chicken: Season chicken thighs with paprika and pepper.
- Sear Chicken (Optional): Sear thighs skin-side down until golden brown.
- Make Sauce: Whisk honey, soy sauce, garlic, ginger, vinegar, sesame oil, and water.
- Slow Cook: Combine chicken and sauce in slow cooker; cook 6-7 hours on low or 3-4 hours on high.
- Thicken Sauce: Thicken sauce with cornstarch slurry.
- Combine & Serve: Return chicken to sauce; serve immediately.
