Description
This recipe provides a quick and easy method to make homemade Frank’s RedHot buffalo sauce. It transforms simple ingredients into a rich, flavorful sauce, perfect for various occasions and tastes better than bottled versions.
Ingredients
- 0.5 cup Frank’s RedHot Original Cayenne Pepper Sauce
- 8 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 2 tablespoons pure maple syrup
- 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
- 0.5 teaspoon garlic powder
Instructions
- Gently Melt the Butter: In a small saucepan, melt 8 tablespoons (115 g) unsalted butter over low heat for about 2 minutes until just liquid, avoiding browning.
- Combine Ingredients: Remove pan from heat. Whisk in 0.5 cup (120 ml) Frank’s RedHot Original, 2 tablespoons (30 ml) pure maple syrup, 1 teaspoon (5 g) smoked paprika, and 0.5 teaspoon (2.5 g) garlic powder until smooth and a vibrant orange.
- Gentle Simmer for Flavor: Return to low heat. Simmer 2 to 3 minutes, stirring, until glossy and slightly thickened. Do not boil vigorously. If sauce separates, whisk vigorously off heat for 30 seconds before returning to heat.
- Rest and Serve: Remove from heat and let rest 1 minute before serving for optimal consistency and melded flavors.
Notes
If using salted butter, reduce any added salt later. For a bolder taste, swap garlic powder for 1 clove of freshly minced garlic. If sauce is too thin, gently simmer for a few more minutes. If too thick, whisk in a teaspoon of hot water or white vinegar. If separated, whisk vigorously off heat for 30-60 seconds to re-emulsify.
