Description
Creamy, vibrant Grinch Fudge Squares are a festive, easy-to-make dessert perfect for holiday fun. A homemade, family-friendly treat with white chocolate & green hue.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 (14-ounce/397g) can Sweetened Condensed Milk
- 2 cups (340g) White Chocolate Chips
- 1/4 cup (57g) Unsalted Butter
- 10–20 drops Green Food Coloring (or more, as needed)
- 1 teaspoon (5ml) Vanilla Extract
- 1/2 cup (60g) Optional: Crushed Sandwich Cookies or Candy Canes
Instructions
- Prep Your Pan: Line an 8×8 inch square baking pan with parchment paper, leaving an overhang to easily lift the fudge later. Lightly grease the paper.
- Melt the Goodness (5-7 minutes): In a microwave-safe bowl, combine white chocolate chips, sweetened condensed milk, and butter. Heat in 30-second intervals, stirring well after each, until completely melted and smooth. Alternatively, use a double boiler over medium-low heat, stirring constantly until melted.
- Color It Green (2 minutes): Remove from heat. Stir in vanilla extract. Add green food coloring, a few drops at a time, until you reach your desired Grinch-green shade. Mix thoroughly to ensure even color.
- Add Mix-ins (Optional): If using, gently fold in crushed sandwich cookies or candy canes.
- Set and Chill (2-4 hours): Pour the fudge mixture evenly into the prepared pan. Smooth the top with a spatula. Chill in the refrigerator for at least 2-4 hours, or until firm.
- Cut and Serve: Once firm, use the parchment paper overhang to lift the fudge from the pan. Place on a cutting board and cut into 1-inch Grinch Fudge Recipe Green Holiday Squares. A warm knife makes for the neatest slices!
Notes
- Dairy-free: Use dairy-free sweetened condensed milk and white chocolate chips for an inclusive treat.
- Lower Sugar: Opt for sugar-free white chocolate chips (adjust sweetness if needed) to manage sugar intake.
- Culinary Extras: Add a tiny pinch of salt to balance sweetness, 1/4 teaspoon (1.25ml) peppermint extract for a festive twist, or festive sprinkles for a final flourish.
- Quick Swap: Use semi-sweet chocolate for a darker, more intense fudge if green color isn’t top priority.
- Troubleshooting: Ensure slow melting and stirring to avoid grainy fudge. Allow adequate chilling time (2-4 hours) to prevent too-soft fudge.
