Description

Pineapple Jalapeño Glow Hawaiian Roll Sliders are an easy, flavorful dish featuring sweet rolls filled with savory turkey, gooey cheese, and a bright tropical kick from pineapple and jalapeño, topped with a savory butter sauce. It’s a satisfying family meal or potluck contribution ready in under 30 minutes.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 12-count package Hawaiian sweet rolls (approximately 340 g)
  • 1 pound (450 g) cooked turkey, thinly sliced, lean turkey breast deli meat
  • 810 slices Provolone or Swiss cheese (approximately 170200 g)
  • 1 8-ounce can (227 g) pineapple slices, drained, or about 1 cup fresh diced pineapple
  • 1 medium fresh jalapeño, thinly sliced
  • 0.5 cup (113 g) unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 tablespoon (15 ml) Dijon mustard
  • 1 teaspoon (5 ml) Worcestershire sauce
  • 0.5 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 0.5 teaspoon onion powder

Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven & Prep Rolls: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Use a serrated knife to gently slice the entire slab of Hawaiian sweet rolls horizontally, keeping them connected so they form a top and bottom half.
  2. Layer the Fillings: Place the bottom half of the rolls into a 9×13 inch baking dish. Evenly layer with the thinly sliced turkey, then the cheese, pineapple slices, and finally the thinly sliced jalapeño. Top with the remaining roll halves.
  3. Make the Glow Topping: In a small, microwave-safe bowl, melt the butter until completely liquid (about 30-45 seconds). Whisk in the Dijon mustard, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, and onion powder until well combined and fragrant.
  4. Pour & Bake Covered: Drizzle the savory butter mixture evenly over the top of the assembled sliders, ensuring every roll gets a glossy coat. Cover the dish tightly with aluminum foil. Bake for 15 minutes.
  5. Uncover & Brown: Carefully remove the foil. Bake for an additional 5-10 minutes, until the cheese is wonderfully bubbly and the tops of the rolls are golden brown and slightly crisp.

Notes

For less spice, remove seeds and membranes from the jalapeño. Consider swapping cooked shredded chicken, Cheddar, or Monterey Jack cheese for variations. Plant-based deli slices or grilled vegetables can be used for a vegetarian option. A sprinkle of everything bagel seasoning on top before baking adds amazing crunch and extra flavor. For quick assembly, use pre-sliced deli turkey and canned pineapple. If rolls look too dry, brush with an extra teaspoon of melted butter before baking uncovered.
