Description

This Honey Garlic Chicken recipe delivers tender, juicy chicken coated in a luscious honey-garlic glaze. It’s a flavorful and easy-to-make dish perfect for weeknights or gatherings.


Ingredients

  • 800g (1lb 12oz) Chicken Thighs, cubed
  • 60ml (¼ cup) Honey
  • 60ml (¼ cup) Low-Sodium Soy Sauce
  • 4 Cloves Garlic, minced
  • 1 tbsp (15ml) Lemon Juice
  • 1 tsp (5ml) Rice Vinegar
  • 1 tsp (5g) Ginger, grated
  • 1 tsp (5g) Smoked Paprika
  • ½ tsp (2g) Black Pepper
  • 2 tbsp (30ml) Vegetable Oil
  • 1 tbsp (8g) Cornstarch with 2 tbsp (30ml) Water
  • 1 tbsp (15ml) Sesame Oil
  • 1 tbsp (15g) Sesame Seeds
  • 2 tbsp (30g) Scallions, sliced
  • Pinch Red Pepper Flakes (optional)

Instructions

  1. Prepare Chicken: Season chicken with pepper and paprika.
  2. Whisk Glaze: Combine honey, soy sauce, garlic, lemon juice, vinegar, ginger, and pepper flakes.
  3. Sear Chicken: Sear chicken in oil until browned.
  4. Glaze & Simmer: Add half the glaze and simmer for 1 minute.
  5. Bake to Perfection: Bake at 200°C (400°F) for 12-15 minutes.
  6. Thicken Sauce: Stir in cornstarch slurry and cook until thickened.
  7. Finish & Serve: Drizzle with sesame oil, garnish with sesame seeds and scallions.

Notes

Using raw honey enhances the flavor. Adjust red pepper flakes for desired spice level. Serve with rice or vegetables.
