Ingredients

  • Sour Cream (120g / ½ cup): adds tanginess
  • Buttermilk (60ml / ¼ cup): thins and adds tang
  • Honey (1 Tbsp / 15ml): balances spice
  • Hot Sauce (1 Tbsp / 15ml): adds heat
  • Dried Dill (1 tsp / 5g): fresh, herbaceous note
  • Dried Parsley (1 tsp / 5g): subtle, grassy flavor
  • Chives (2 Tbsp / 30ml fresh or 1 tsp dried): mild oniony flavor
  • Garlic Powder (½ tsp / 2.5g): concentrated garlic flavor
  • Onion Powder (½ tsp / 2.5g): subtle oniony depth
  • Salt (¼ tsp / 1g): enhances flavors
  • Black Pepper (¼ tsp / 1g): adds spice
  • Garlic (4 cloves, peeled): for roasted caramel
  • Honey (2 Tbsp / 30ml – for caramel): for caramel
  • Olive Oil (1 tsp / 5ml): coats garlic for roasting
  • Smoked Paprika (pinch): garnish
  • Honey (drizzle): garnish

Instructions

  1. Roast Garlic: Toss garlic with olive oil and roast at 180°C (350°F) for 15 minutes until soft.
  2. Make Caramel: Mash roasted garlic with honey and simmer for 3-4 minutes until thickened.
  3. Prepare Ranch: Whisk mayonnaise, sour cream, buttermilk, honey, hot sauce, dill, parsley, chives, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper.
  4. Incorporate Caramel: Fold half of the caramel into the ranch base.
  5. Swirl & Garnish: Transfer to a bowl, swirl reserved caramel, and garnish with paprika and honey.

Notes

For best results, roast the garlic thoroughly to maximize its sweetness. Adjust the amount of hot sauce to your preferred spice level.
