Description
This Strawberry Ribbon Glass milkshake is a vibrant, creamy, and sweet refreshment perfect for an afternoon treat. It’s an easy, quick, and family-friendly recipe with beautiful swirling pink hues.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1.5 cups fresh or frozen strawberries, hulled
- 2 cups good quality vanilla ice cream
- 0.5 cup cold milk (dairy or non-dairy)
- 1–2 teaspoons honey or maple syrup (optional)
Instructions
- Prep Strawberries: Wash and hull 1.5 cups of fresh strawberries; if using frozen, let them soften for 5 minutes.
- Make Strawberry Purée: In a blender, purée 0.5 cup of the prepped strawberries until completely smooth, about 30 seconds. Set aside for layering.
- Blend Milkshake: Add the remaining 1 cup of strawberries, 2 cups good quality vanilla ice cream, and 0.5 cup cold milk to the blender. Blend on high for 45-60 seconds until thick and creamy, pausing to scrape sides. If too thick, add 1-2 tablespoons more milk and re-blend briefly.
- Assemble Milkshake: Drizzle strawberry purée inside a chilled 16-ounce pint glass. Carefully pour in layers of blended milkshake and purée for a ribbon effect. Serve immediately.
Notes
For a vegan version, swap to non-dairy ice cream and plant-based milk. For a lower-sugar option, use unsweetened milk and sugar-free ice cream. If the milkshake is too thick, add 1-2 tablespoons of milk; if too thin, add more ice cream or a few ice cubes. Serve immediately for best texture.
