These Miso Maple Glazed Steak Bites combine tender steak and stew meat in a savory-sweet glaze. This recipe is perfect for a quick weeknight meal or a stunning appetizer.

- 200g (7oz) Beef Steak, sirloin or ribeye recommended, cubed
- 200g (7oz) Beef Stew Meat, cubed
- 2 Tbsp (30ml) Vegetable Oil
- 1 Tbsp (15g) White Miso Paste
- 2 Tbsp (30ml) Pure Maple Syrup
- 1 Tbsp (15ml) Low-Sodium Soy Sauce
- 1 tsp (5g) Freshly Grated Ginger
- 1 Clove Garlic, minced
- ¼ tsp (0.5g) Red Chili Flakes
- ½ tsp (2g) Sea Salt
- ¼ tsp (1g) Freshly Ground Black Pepper
- 1 tsp (5g) Toasted Sesame Seeds
- 1 Tbsp (15g) Chopped Scallions (Green Onion)
Instructions
- Prepare the Meat: Pat meat dry, season with salt and pepper.
- Sear the Meat: Sear meat in hot oil for 2-3 minutes per side.
- Reduce Heat & Prepare Glaze: Reduce heat, whisk miso, maple syrup, soy sauce, ginger, garlic, and chili flakes.
- Cook the Glaze: Cook glaze for 1-2 minutes until thickened.
- Combine & Caramelize: Return meat to skillet, coat with glaze, and cook for 2 minutes.
- Rest & Serve: Rest for 2 minutes, garnish with sesame seeds and scallions.
Notes
For optimal searing, ensure the skillet is very hot and avoid overcrowding.
