Description

These Miso Maple Glazed Steak Bites combine tender steak and stew meat in a savory-sweet glaze. This recipe is perfect for a quick weeknight meal or a stunning appetizer.


Ingredients

  • 200g (7oz) Beef Steak, sirloin or ribeye recommended, cubed
  • 200g (7oz) Beef Stew Meat, cubed
  • 2 Tbsp (30ml) Vegetable Oil
  • 1 Tbsp (15g) White Miso Paste
  • 2 Tbsp (30ml) Pure Maple Syrup
  • 1 Tbsp (15ml) Low-Sodium Soy Sauce
  • 1 tsp (5g) Freshly Grated Ginger
  • 1 Clove Garlic, minced
  • ¼ tsp (0.5g) Red Chili Flakes
  • ½ tsp (2g) Sea Salt
  • ¼ tsp (1g) Freshly Ground Black Pepper
  • 1 tsp (5g) Toasted Sesame Seeds
  • 1 Tbsp (15g) Chopped Scallions (Green Onion)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Meat: Pat meat dry, season with salt and pepper.
  2. Sear the Meat: Sear meat in hot oil for 2-3 minutes per side.
  3. Reduce Heat & Prepare Glaze: Reduce heat, whisk miso, maple syrup, soy sauce, ginger, garlic, and chili flakes.
  4. Cook the Glaze: Cook glaze for 1-2 minutes until thickened.
  5. Combine & Caramelize: Return meat to skillet, coat with glaze, and cook for 2 minutes.
  6. Rest & Serve: Rest for 2 minutes, garnish with sesame seeds and scallions.

Notes

For optimal searing, ensure the skillet is very hot and avoid overcrowding.
