Description
A vibrant and creamy papaya smoothie enhanced with a luxurious Cardamom Coconut Cream Swirl, offering a gourmet brunch experience that is both healthy and filling.
Ingredients
Scale
- 250 g ripe papaya, peeled, deseeded, and roughly chopped
- 120 ml unsweetened full-fat coconut milk
- 60 g ripe banana, frozen in slices
- 15 ml fresh lime juice
- 120 g ice cubes
- 5–15 ml maple syrup or agave nectar, to taste (optional)
- 160 g thick coconut cream, chilled
- 2.5 ml ground green cardamom
- 10 ml maple syrup or agave nectar + pinch of sea salt (for swirl)
Instructions
- Prepare Cardamom Coconut Cream Swirl: In a small mixing bowl, combine the chilled thick coconut cream, ground green cardamom, maple syrup, and sea salt. Whisk vigorously for 30-60 seconds until smooth and fluffy. Cover and refrigerate while preparing the smoothie base.
- Blend Papaya Smoothie Base: Add the chopped papaya, coconut milk, frozen banana slices, lime juice, ice cubes, and optional maple syrup (for the smoothie base) to a high-speed blender. Blend on high for 60-90 seconds until completely smooth and creamy. Scrape down the sides as necessary.
- Combine Smoothie and Swirl: Pour the blended papaya smoothie into a clear serving glass or tumbler, filling roughly two-thirds full. Retrieve the chilled Cardamom Coconut Cream from the refrigerator and drizzle generous ribbons of the cream directly into the glass.
- Garnish and Serve: Create a distinct swirl pattern on top of the smoothie with the remaining cream. Dust lightly with ground green cardamom and garnish with a small lime wedge on the rim. Serve immediately.
Notes
Serve this smoothie immediately to enjoy the cold temperature and distinct layers of flavor. For a thicker smoothie, reduce the liquid coconut milk and increase the amount of ice cubes used during blending.
