Description

  • 0.5 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 2 tablespoons freshly grated Parmesan cheese

Instructions

  1. Prep the Dough: Unroll one package of pizza dough onto a lightly floured surface. Gently stretch it into a 12 x 16 inch rectangle.
  2. Combine & Brush Butter Mixture: In a small bowl, combine melted butter, garlic powder, and Italian seasoning. Stir until fragrant. Brush generously and evenly over the dough.
  3. Initial Bake: Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Bake for 8-10 minutes until lightly golden and puffed.
  4. Add Cheese: Remove from oven. Evenly sprinkle shredded mozzarella and Parmesan cheese over the warm dough.
  5. Final Bake: Return to oven for 3-5 minutes, until cheese is melted, bubbly, and golden at edges.
  6. Slice & Serve: Remove from oven. Brush with more melted garlic butter if desired. Slice into 12-14 breadsticks. Serve warm with marinara.

Notes

For extra crispy breadsticks, bake a minute or two longer before adding cheese. Avoid over-baking the dough before adding cheese; it should be just lightly golden, not crisp. Don’t skip brushing with butter after baking for that signature sheen and flavor. Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
