Tender beef slow-cooked in garlic butter with potatoes or keto swaps—easy, hearty, and comforting.
Ingredients
- 2 lbs beef stew meat, boneless chuck, or sirloin tips (for tenderness, choose marbled cuts)
- 1.5 lbs baby Yukon gold potatoes, unpeeled
- 5 tbsp unsalted butter, sliced into 1-tbsp pads
- 1 tbsp fresh garlic, chopped or pre-minced
- 2 tsp seasoned salt
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tbsp onion powder
- ½ tsp black pepper
- 1 cup mushrooms, sliced (optional)
- ½ cup pearl onions or 1 small sweet onion, chopped (optional)
- 1 tsp dried rosemary or thyme (optional)
- ½ cup beef broth (optional)
Instructions
- Layer the Ingredients: Spray the inside of your 6-quart slow cooker with nonstick spray. Place the beef on one side and the potatoes on the other.
- Season Everything: Sprinkle seasoned salt, garlic powder, onion powder, and black pepper evenly over both sides. Lightly toss to coat.
- Add Garlic & Butter: Distribute chopped garlic and pads of butter evenly across beef and potatoes.
- Cover & Cook: Cook on LOW for 6–8 hours or HIGH for 3–4 hours. Avoid lifting the lid.
- Serve & Spoon Sauce: Gently stir to coat everything in the sauce. Spoon extra pan sauce over servings.

- Use red potatoes, sweet potatoes, or skip potatoes for keto.
- For gluten-free: verify that your seasoned salt and broth are GF-certified.
