  • 400g (14oz) Penne Pasta
  • 300g (10.5oz) Halal-Certified Chicken Sausage, sliced
  • 2 Tbsp (30ml) Olive Oil
  • 4 cloves Garlic, minced
  • 3 Tbsp (45ml) Honey
  • 2 Tbsp (30ml) Low-Sodium Soy Sauce
  • 1 tsp (5ml) Fresh Lemon Juice
  • 0.5 tsp (2g) Chili Flakes
  • 0.25 tsp (1g) Smoked Paprika
  • 1 Tbsp (15g) Unsalted Butter
  • 0.25 cup (25g) Grated Parmesan Cheese
  • 2 Tbsp (8g) Chopped Fresh Parsley
  • 1 Tbsp (9g) Toasted Sesame Seeds
  • Salt and Pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Cook Pasta: Boil penne until al dente, reserving 1 cup pasta water.
  2. Sear Sausage: Brown sliced sausage in olive oil until crispy.
  3. Build Sauce: Sauté garlic in butter, then whisk in honey, soy sauce, lemon juice, chili flakes, and paprika. Simmer until thickened.
  4. Combine & Caramelize: Return sausage to skillet, add pasta, and toss with sauce. Add pasta water if needed.
  5. Finish & Serve: Stir in Parmesan, parsley, and sesame seeds. Season to taste.

Notes

Reserving pasta water is key to creating a creamy sauce. Adjust chili flakes to your preferred spice level.
