Description
These air-fried chicken breasts are fast and easy, seasoned with spices and then cooked in the air fryer in minutes.
Ingredients
Scale
- 4 (8-ounce) chicken breasts
- 1 teaspoon kosher salt
- 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 2 teaspoons cumin
- 3 teaspoons olive oil
Instructions
- Step: Place chicken on a cutting board and top with a piece of plastic wrap. Using a meat mallet, pound chicken breasts until they are evenly 1/2 inch thick, starting in the center of each piece and working your way to the edges.
- Step: Season chicken with salt on both sides and refrigerate, uncovered, preferably for at least 20 to 30 minutes.
- Step: Combine smoked paprika, garlic powder, and cumin in a bowl and whisk together.
- Step: Preheat air fryer to 375°F. Remove chicken from refrigerator and pat dry with a paper towel.
- Step: Drizzle olive oil over chicken, coating it on both sides.
- Step: Season chicken with spice mixture evenly on both sides, and place in air fryer basket.
- Step: Air-fry chicken for 6 minutes, then, using tongs, flip chicken over and air-fry until chicken reaches 160°F, about 3 minutes, depending on the brand and model of your air fryer.
- Step: Remove chicken from air fryer and let rest for 5 minutes so the internal temperature comes up to 165°F before serving.
Notes
Dry-brining with salt helps keep lean chicken breast moist. If you are short on time, you can skip the refrigeration step and mix the salt directly into your spice blend.
