This Bold and Zesty Cajun Shrimp Boil is perfect for gatherings or a festive family dinner. This dish features plump shrimp, corn, potatoes, and a homemade blend of spicy Cajun seasonings.

- 2 pounds raw shrimp
- 1 pound red potatoes, sliced in half
- 6 oz beef smoked sausage, sliced into 1 inch rounds
- 6 ears mini corn on the cob
- 1 lemon, sliced in half
- 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
- 1/2 teaspoon Old Bay Seasoning
- 1/2–1 teaspoon cayenne pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
- 2 bay leaves
- salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Step 1: Bring a large pot to boil with enough water to cover the shrimp and vegetables.
- Step 2: Add the spices, halved lemons, and bay leaves to the pot and stir well.
- Step 3: Add the halved corn on the cob, halved red potatoes, and beef smoked sausage to the pot and stir.
- Step 4: Cook for 10-15 minutes or until the potatoes are fork-tender.
- Step 5: Add the shrimp to the pot and stir well.
- Step 6: Cook for 2-4 minutes or until the shrimp is pink and opaque.
- Step 7: Use a strainer to remove the shrimp, corn, potatoes, and sausage from the pot and drain.
- Step 8: Serve hot and enjoy!
Notes
Omit the cayenne pepper if you don’t want a spicy flavor. Tasting the water is important to ensure it meets your liking. You can use shell-on or peeled shrimp based on personal preference.
