Description

This Cheesy Baked spaghetti is traditional, but with a delicious twist! It is made super cheesy with the addition of creamy cheese, shredded cheeses, and a super flavorful sauce.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 16 ounces tomato sauce
  • 2 cups reserved pasta water
  • 1 tablespoon seasoned salt
  • 1 tablespoon Italian seasoning
  • 1/2 tablespoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 tablespoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
  • 1 tablespoon sugar (optional)
  • 8 ounces processed cheese, cubed
  • 3 cups mozzarella cheese
  • 2 cups Italian cheese blend
  • 16 ounces spaghetti noodles
  • 1 teaspoon salt (for boiling water)

Instructions

  1. Step: Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Bring a large stockpot of water to a rapid boil with a teaspoon of salt.
  2. Step: Add spaghetti noodles and cook until al dente (7-8 minutes). Reserve two cups of cooking liquid, then drain and rinse noodles with cold water.
  3. Step: In a skillet, brown ground beef over medium heat. Add diced onion and minced garlic, stirring until meat is cooked through.
  4. Step: Drain excess grease from the beef mixture. Return meat to the skillet over low-medium heat.
  5. Step: Stir in tomato sauce and one cup of reserved pasta water. Mix in seasonings, sugar, and cubed processed cheese until smooth. If too thick, add remaining cup of water.
  6. Step: Spray a casserole dish with non-stick spray. Combine the sauce, cooked noodles, and half of the mozzarella in the dish.
  7. Step: Sprinkle remaining cheeses over the top.
  8. Step: Cover with foil and bake for 30 minutes. Remove foil and broil for 2-3 minutes to crisp the cheese.
  9. Step: Let set for 5-7 minutes before serving.

Notes

Ensure water is at a rapid boil before adding pasta to ensure even cooking. Do not overcook pasta as it will continue cooking in the oven. If the sauce is too thick, adjust with extra tomato sauce.
