- 9 dry lasagna noodles
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 cup onion, finely chopped
- 2 tablespoons garlic, minced
- 3 cups tomato sauce
- 2 tablespoons tomato paste
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 cup fresh parsley, finely chopped
- 2 cups ricotta cheese
- 1 1/2 cups mozzarella cheese, shredded and divided
- 1/2 cup Parmesan cheese, grated and divided
- 1 egg, beaten
- 1/4 cup fresh parsley, chopped
Instructions
- Step: Preheat oven to 375 F.
- Step: Bring a large pot of water to a boil, add noodles, olive oil, and salt; cook until al dente, drain, and rinse.
- Step: Heat 2 tablespoons oil in a pot, brown ground beef, then stir in onion and garlic until tender.
- Step: Add tomato sauce, tomato paste, salt, and parsley; simmer uncovered for 10 minutes.
- Step: Combine ricotta, 1 cup mozzarella, 1/4 cup Parmesan, egg, and parsley in a bowl.
- Step: Spread 1 cup sauce in a 9×13-inch baking dish, layer 3 noodles, half the cheese mixture, half the remaining meat sauce, 3 noodles, remaining cheese mixture, final 3 noodles, remaining sauce, and top with remaining shredded cheese.
- Step: Cover with greased foil and bake for 45 minutes; remove foil and bake uncovered for 20 minutes until golden and bubbly.
Notes
Store leftovers in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Can be frozen for up to 3 months. Always allow to rest for 15 minutes before serving.
