Ingredients
Scale
- 1/2 pound fusilli lunghi pasta
- 3 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 3 garlic cloves, minced
- 1 1/2 cups heavy cream
- 1 teaspoon kosher salt
- Freshly ground black pepper, to taste
- Onion powder, to taste
- Garlic powder, to taste
- Fresh parsley, to taste
- Chili flakes, to taste
- 2 ounces cream cheese, softened
- 1/2 cup grated parmesan cheese
- 2 tablespoons lemon juice
Instructions
- Cook: Cook the pasta in salted water according to package instructions until al dente. Drain, reserving a dash of pasta water.
- Sauté: In a pan over medium heat, add butter, olive oil, and minced garlic. Sauté until garlic is fragrant.
- Simmer: Pour in heavy cream and bring to a simmer.
- Season: Season with salt, pepper, onion powder, garlic powder, parsley, and chili flakes. Stir in the lemon juice.
- Melt: Add softened cream cheese and stir until melted.
- Combine: Add cooked pasta and a dash of pasta water to the sauce. Mix until pasta is coated and creamy.
- Incorporate: Sprinkle grated Parmesan cheese over the pasta and stir to incorporate.
- Serve: Serve hot, topped with additional Parmesan cheese and a squeeze of lemon juice if desired.
Notes
Fusilli lunghi pasta is recommended for its spiral shape, which allows the creamy sauce to cling to and infuse into each twist, but long, thin pasta like spaghetti or linguine will work just as well.
