Description
This easy air fryer whole chicken is the best way to get that rotisserie-style chicken every time. Juicy, succulent, crispy chicken that is bursting with flavor in just 60 minutes!

- 1 (3-5 pound) whole chicken, giblets removed
- 1–2 tablespoons avocado oil or extra virgin olive oil
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- 1 teaspoon kosher salt
- 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
Instructions
- Step: Preheat the air fryer to 360 degrees F.
- Step: remove the chicken from the packaging and remove the giblets from the inside cavity if there are any in there. Then use a clean kitchen towel to dry the chicken all over.
- Step: rub or brush the oil all over the chicken on both sides. In a small bowl combine the garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Then rub the seasoning all over the chicken on both sides.
- Step: spray the air fryer basket with cooking spray to prevent sticking, then carefully place the seasoned chicken, breast-side down into the air fryer basket. Cook the chicken for 50 minutes, flip it over and cook it for 10 more minutes. Cook the chicken until the internal temperature of the chicken reaches 160 degrees F checked by a meat thermometer.
- Step: once the chicken is done cooking, remove it from the air fryer and place it onto a cutting board. Let it rest for at least 10 minutes, then carve it and serve.
Notes
Make sure to get a chicken that will fit in your air fryer (typically 3-5 lbs). Dry the chicken well before you season it. Cook the chicken until the internal temperature reaches 165 degrees F. Let the chicken rest for 10 minutes before carving to allow the juices to stay inside. Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
