Description
Crispy Ground Beef Tacos stuffed with juicy seasoned beef, melty mozzarella, and golden pan-fried tortillas. Drizzled with a fresh cilantro lime crema that tastes restaurant-level with almost no effort.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1/2 cup plain greek yogurt
- 1 tbsp light mayonnaise
- 1/2 tbsp fresh lime juice
- 1 tsp minced garlic
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1/4 cup fresh cilantro, chopped
- 1/2 medium yellow onion, chopped
- 1 lb lean ground beef
- 1 package taco seasoning mix
- 8 6-inch flour tortillas
- 1 1/2 cups mozzarella cheese
- 1–2 tbsp avocado oil
Instructions
- Make the crema: Add Greek yogurt, mayo, lime juice, garlic, salt, and cilantro to a blender, blend until smooth, and refrigerate.
- Cook the beef: Heat a skillet over medium heat, cook the chopped onion until soft, then add ground beef and cook until browned, draining excess fat if needed.
- Season the beef: Stir in taco seasoning and a splash of water, simmer until coated and liquid is absorbed, and add black pepper to taste.
- Assemble the tacos: Lay a tortilla on a clean surface, sprinkle mozzarella on one half, spoon seasoned ground beef on top, add more cheese, and fold the tortilla over.
- Crisp the tacos: Cook in a medium saucepan over medium heat for 2–3 minutes per side until golden and crispy.
- Serve: Drizzle with cilantro lime crema and top with chopped cilantro.
Notes
Do not overfill the tacos to ensure they crisp properly. Mozzarella can be mixed with cheddar for additional flavor.
