Ingredients
Scale
- 3.5 lbs (1.5 kg) boneless skinless chicken breast
- 2 cups BBQ sauce
- 1/4 cup (60 g) light or dark brown sugar, packed
- 2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
- 1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika
- 1/4 to 1/2 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes
Instructions
- Step: In the slow cooker, combine BBQ sauce, brown sugar, apple cider vinegar, olive oil, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, and crushed red pepper. Stir until well mixed.
- Step: Place the chicken breasts into the sauce mixture. Use a spoon to coat each piece thoroughly.

- Step: Stir the shredded chicken back into the sauce until fully coated. Serve hot in sandwiches, bowls, or wraps.
Notes
Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 4 days, or freeze in portions for up to 2 months. Reheat on the stovetop or in the microwave, adding a splash of extra BBQ sauce if needed.
