Description

Learn how to boil chicken and have tender and flavorful meat for casseroles and more. You will save time and money with these tips.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 23 lbs Chicken Breasts
  • 4 cups Chicken Broth
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • 1/2 tsp Pepper

Instructions

  1. Step 1: Place 2–3 lbs chicken breasts (approximately 3–4 chicken breasts) in a large stock pot and season with 1 tsp salt and ½ tsp pepper.
  2. Step 2: Pour 4 cups chicken broth over the chicken, making sure the chicken is fully covered. Add additional water if needed to cover completely.
  3. Step 3: Bring the mixture to a boil over medium high heat.
  4. Step 4: Once the mixture is boiling, reduce the heat to low and cover.
  5. Step 5: Cook until the chicken is cooked through (chicken will be completely white when cooked) and reaches an internal temperature of 165 degrees F.
  6. Step 6: Remove chicken, shred and enjoy!

Notes

For frozen chicken, add an additional 15 minutes to the cook time. Chicken can be shredded using two forks or a hand/stand mixer for faster results.
