Description
EXTRA CRISPY chicken coated in a spicy, sweet, savoury garlic sauce, my first ever viral recipe is a forever classic dish!
Ingredients
Scale
- 6 pieces boneless chicken thigh, cut into bite-size pieces
- 1/3 cup rice flour
- 1/4 cup corn starch
- 1 tbsp garlic powder
- Salt and pepper to season
- 1/3 cup soda water
- 1 egg
- 8 cloves garlic, chopped
- 2 tbsp Korean chilli paste
- 3 tbsp honey
- 1 tbsp soy sauce
- 1 tbsp sesame seeds
Instructions
- Step 1: Marinate chicken with salt and pepper, garlic powder, corn starch, rice flour, egg, soda water. Set aside for 10 minutes.
- Step 2: Fry in medium-high heat oil for 4-5 minutes or until golden brown. Optional but highly recommended, double fry for another 1-2 minutes after removing from the heat for extra crispiness.
- Step 3: In a pan, add in Korean Chilli Paste, Honey, 1 tbsp of soy sauce, and minced garlic.
- Step 4: Turn the heat up to medium-low and mix till everything is thoroughly mixed well.
- Step 5: Add in the chicken and make sure every piece of chicken is covered in the sauce.
- Step 6: Finish off with sesame seeds. Saute on high heat for 1 minute.
- Step 7: Serve hot garnished with chopped green onion.
Notes
If you are serving it to kids, you can replace the Korean chili paste with 2 tbsp of ketchup and 1 tbsp of soy sauce for a sweet and tangy garlic glaze instead.
