  • 1 cup whole milk (full-fat)

  • ⅓ tsp salt
  • ½ tsp freshly ground black pepper

Instructions

  1. Melt the Butter: In a medium saucepan over medium heat, melt the butter completely.
  2. Add Garlic: Stir in garlic powder and cook for 4–5 seconds, just until fragrant.
  3. Make the Roux: Lower the heat to medium-low. Add the flour and whisk constantly for about 1 minute, until lightly golden and no longer raw.
  4. Add Liquids: Gradually whisk in the milk to avoid lumps, followed by the vegetable broth. Continue whisking until the sauce thickens to your desired consistency.
  5. Add Cheese & Seasonings: Stir in Parmesan cheese, salt, and pepper. Cook just until the cheese melts and the sauce is smooth.
