Description

A high-protein, tender Greek-inspired chicken breast recipe marinated in a creamy yogurt base with fresh garlic and Mediterranean herbs.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 chicken breasts
  • 3/4 tsp black pepper
  • 1/3 cup plain Greek yogurt
  • 5 cloves garlic, freshly minced
  • 1.5 tbsp lemon juice
  • 2 tsp paprika
  • 1/2 tsp onion powder
  • 3/4 tsp oregano
  • 1 tsp salt

Instructions

  1. Step: Pat the chicken breasts dry with paper towels, then gently flatten any thick sections by placing your hand on top and pressing down.
  2. Step: In a bowl, whisk together the yogurt, minced garlic, lemon juice, paprika, oregano, onion powder, salt, and black pepper until well blended.
  3. Step: Place the chicken in a bowl or zip-top bag, pour the marinade over it, and coat evenly. Refrigerate for at least 30 minutes, up to 24 hours.
  4. Step: Remove chicken from the refrigerator and let it sit at room temperature for 10 minutes.
  5. Step: Cook using your preferred method: Grill 6-8 minutes per side (to 160°F), bake at 425°F for 16-18 minutes (to 165°F), or air fry at 375°F for 12-15 minutes (to 165°F).
  6. Step: Transfer chicken to a plate and let it rest for 5 minutes before serving to ensure it remains moist.

Notes

Using full-fat or 2% Greek yogurt provides the best texture and moisture retention for the chicken. Always ensure the chicken is dried thoroughly before adding the marinade to help it adhere better.
