Description
Taco Bell Chalupa Supreme is a delicious and fast food favorite menu item featuring chewy flatbread loaded with beef, cheddar cheese, lettuce and ripe tomatoes.

- 2 1/2 cups All Purpose Flour
- 1 Tablespoons Baking Powder
- 1/2 teaspoon Salt
- 1 Tablespoons Vegetable Oil (plus more for Frying)
- 1 Cup Milk
- 1 pound Ground Beef
- 1 small Onion, chopped
- 2 Tablespoons Taco Seasoning
- 1/4 cup Salsa
- 1/4 cup Water
- 1/2 cup Sour Cream
- 2 cups Shredded Lettuce
- 2 cups Shredded Mexican Cheese Blend
- 2 Tomatoes, diced
Instructions
- Step: In a large mixing bowl, whisk together 2 cups of flour, 1 tablespoon baking powder and ½ teaspoon salt.
- Step: Mix in 1 tablespoon vegetable oil and gradually stir in 1 cup of milk.
- Step: Mix in the remaining flour (½ cup) until a dough forms and knead the dough with your hands.
- Step: Form the dough into a long log and cut it into 8 equal parts.
- Step: Form each part into a round circle on a floured surface that is approximately 6 inches across.
- Step: Use a fork to poke a few holes into each of the circles.
- Step: Heat 2 inches of the vegetable oil in a large pot until it’s approximately 350 degrees Fahrenheit.
- Step: Place one of the disks in the hot oil and cook it for 5 seconds on each side.
- Step: Use tongs to gently fold the disk in half to make a taco shape, holding it in the oil to cook for 1-2 minutes per side.
- Step: Remove golden brown shells to a plate lined with a paper towel to soak up excess oil.
- Step: Brown the ground beef and chopped onion in a skillet over medium high heat and drain the excess grease.
- Step: Stir in the taco seasoning, salsa, and water.
- Step: Heat uncovered for 3-5 minutes until the flavors are combined, then remove from heat.
- Step: Fill each of the shells with the beef mixture.
- Step: Top with the sour cream, shredded lettuce, shredded cheese, and diced tomatoes.
Notes
Refrigerate leftovers separately in airtight containers for up to 5 days. It is best to use room temperature milk when making the chalupa dough.
