Description

This ground beef gnocchi recipe has a creamy tomato sauce and turns store-bought gnocchi into pillowy deliciousness. This one pan meal is quick and tastes gourmet!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound lean ground beef
  • 1/2 medium onion, chopped
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1 (14 ounce) can diced tomatoes with juices
  • 1/3 cup beef or vegetable broth
  • 3/4 cup heavy cream
  • 1 pound uncooked potato gnocchi
  • 1/2 cup freshly grated parmesan cheese (microbial rennet)
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Step: Brown the ground beef and onion in a skillet over medium-high heat for 7-10 minutes; spoon out excess fat if necessary.
  2. Step: Stir in the garlic and Italian seasoning.
  3. Step: Add the diced tomatoes, broth, cream, and gnocchi to the pan, stir, cover, and reduce heat to medium for 5 minutes.
  4. Step: Uncover, stir, and cook for a few more minutes until gnocchi is soft and sauce has thickened.
  5. Step: Stir in the parmesan cheese, salt, and pepper, then serve immediately.

Notes

There is no need to pre-cook the gnocchi. This dish would be excellent with fresh basil stirred in at the end.
