Description

French Onion Soup Rice combines the rich, savory flavors of classic French onion soup with comforting, buttery long-grain rice in a simple oven-baked dish.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 1/4 cup Long Grain Rice, uncooked
  • 14.5 oz can of Beef Broth
  • 10.5 oz can of French Onion Soup
  • 1 stick of Butter, cold
  • Fresh parsley for garnish

Instructions

  1. Preheat: Preheat oven to 425 degrees F.
  2. Layer: In an 8X8 inch pan, spread the uncooked rice evenly.
  3. Liquid: Pour Beef Broth over the rice.
  4. Combine: Pour in the French Onion Soup.
  5. Butter: Slice the butter into pats and layer it evenly over the rice and soup mixture.
  6. Cover: Cover the dish with tin foil and bake in the oven for 25 minutes.
  7. Uncover: After 25 minutes, uncover, return to the oven, and bake for an additional 25 minutes.
  8. Finish: Sprinkle with fresh parsley and serve warm.

Notes

Caramelized onions can be added for extra depth. For a richer finish, stir in grated Gruyère, Parmesan, or mozzarella towards the end of baking.
