Description
Grilled Teriyaki Chicken with homemade teriyaki sauce is deliciously sweet, moist, and ready to serve in as little as 15 minutes!
Ingredients

- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 1/2 cup water
- 2 teaspoons garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon ginger, peeled and minced
- 2 tablespoons honey
- 1 tablespoon brown sugar
- 2 teaspoons toasted sesame oil
- 4 teaspoons cornstarch
- 2 tablespoons water
- 2 pounds boneless skinless chicken thighs
- Sesame seeds, for garnish
- Green onion, thinly sliced, for garnish
Instructions
- Step: Place soy sauce, 1/2 cup water, garlic, ginger, honey, brown sugar, and sesame oil in a small pot over medium-high heat and cook for 2 minutes.
- Step: Increase heat to high, bring to a boil, then stir in the cornstarch dissolved in 2 tablespoons of cold water.
- Step: Boil for 1-2 minutes until thickened, then set sauce aside.
- Step: Pat chicken thighs dry, set aside 1/3 cup of sauce, and coat the remaining chicken in the rest of the sauce.
- Step: Grill or cook on a grill pan over medium-high heat for 5-7 minutes per side until cooked through.
- Step: Baste cooked chicken with reserved glaze and serve warm.
Notes
The teriyaki recipe makes about 1 1/4 cups of sauce. Store leftovers in the refrigerator for up to two weeks.
