Ingredients
Scale
- 1 lb ground turkey
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 cup breadcrumbs
- 1/2 cup whole milk
- 2 large eggs
- 1 small yellow onion, diced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tsp dried thyme
- 1 tsp smoked paprika
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 1/2 cup ketchup
- 2 tbsp brown sugar
- 1 tbsp Dijon mustard
Instructions
- Step: Preheat your oven to 375°F.
- Step: Combine breadcrumbs and milk in a large bowl, letting it sit for 5 minutes to create a binder.
- Step: Add the ground turkey, ground beef, eggs, onion, garlic, Worcestershire sauce, thyme, paprika, salt, and pepper to the bowl and mix gently by hand until combined.
- Step: Shape the mixture into a loaf on a baking sheet or in a greased loaf pan.
- Step: Whisk together the ketchup, brown sugar, and Dijon mustard in a small bowl; spread half of this glaze over the loaf.
- Step: Bake for 45 minutes, then add the remaining glaze and bake for an additional 15–20 minutes until the internal temperature reaches 160°F.
- Step: Allow the meatloaf to rest for 10 minutes before slicing and serving.
Notes
Always allow the meatloaf to rest for 10 minutes after baking; this ensures the juices redistribute, keeping every slice moist and preventing the loaf from falling apart.
