This crockpot chicken thighs recipe is easy, and full of bold flavors!

- 6 bone-in, skin-on chicken thighs
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 tablespoon light olive oil
- 6 oz tomato paste
- ¼ cup water
- 2 tablespoons vinegar
- ¼ cup pure maple syrup
- ½ tsp onion powder
- ⅛ tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
- 3 garlic cloves, minced
- ¼ tsp dried mustard
- ⅓ cup reduced-sodium soy sauce
- 1 teaspoon dried parsley
Instructions
- Step: Sprinkle chicken with salt and pepper.
- Step: Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the olive oil and place the chicken thighs, skin side down. Brown them for 3 minutes and turn. Brown them for 3 minutes on the other side. Place them inside the crockpot in a single layer.
- Step: Make the ketchup: whisk together the tomato paste, water, white vinegar, maple syrup, Worcestershire sauce, soy sauce, and minced garlic until smooth.
- Step: Add the spices: garlic powder, onion powder, dried parsley, and mustard powder to the mix and whisk until smooth.
- Step: Cook for 3 hours on HIGH or for 5 hours on LOW. Serve with more parsley on top for presentation.
Notes
Browning the chicken skin first is recommended for the best texture and flavor. Ensure chicken is in a single layer for even cooking.
