- 1 can (12 oz) Dr Pepper
- 1 teaspoon minced garlic
- 1 onion, chopped
- 24 Hawaiian rolls
- Sliced red onion, sharp cheddar cheese, and extra BBQ sauce for topping
Instructions
- Step: Place 4 boneless chicken breasts, 2 cups BBQ sauce, 1 chopped onion, 1 teaspoon minced garlic, and 1 can (about 12 oz) Dr Pepper into a slow cooker.
- Step: Cook on low for 6–8 hours until the chicken is fully cooked and tender.
- Step: Shred the chicken directly in the slow cooker and mix it with the sauce.
- Step: Serve the shredded BBQ chicken on 24 Hawaiian rolls.
- Step: Top with sliced red onion, sharp cheddar cheese, and additional BBQ sauce if desired.
Notes
Chicken can be placed in the slow cooker frozen or thawed. For shredding, use two forks or a hand mixer with a paddle attachment.
