Description

Slow Cooker Hot Honey Chicken- a sweet and spicy shredded chicken that makes a great sandwich. The chicken is wonderfully juicy and completely coated in a delicious sauce.


Ingredients

  • 6 to 8 boneless, skinless chicken thighs
  • 2 to 3 teaspoons cayenne pepper
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 cup ketchup
  • 1/2 cup honey
  • 2 to 3 teaspoons cornstarch

Instructions

  1. Step 1: Place chicken in a lightly greased 6-quart slow cooker. Sprinkle cayenne pepper, smoked paprika, paprika, garlic powder, black pepper, and salt on chicken.
  2. Step 2: Drizzle ketchup and honey on top of chicken.
  3. Step 3: Place lid on and cook on LOW for 4 to 6 hours.
  4. Step 4: Pour all the liquid into a saucepan. Mix cornstarch with a tablespoon of cold water and add to saucepan. Bring to a boil and simmer until thickened, stirring frequently.
  5. Step 5: Shred the chicken with 2 forks and pour sauce back over chicken.

Notes

Leftovers will keep in an airtight container in the refrigerator for 4 to 5 days or can be frozen in a freezer bag for up to 2 months.
