Description

A hearty and satisfying lower carb alternative to traditional lox and bagels, featuring smoked salmon on whole grain sourdough toast with herbed cream cheese.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 6 oz. cream cheese (softened)
  • 2 tablespoons chopped fresh dill
  • 1 teaspoon fresh lemon juice
  • 4 slices whole grain sourdough bread (toasted)
  • 1/4 lb smoked salmon (thinly sliced)
  • 1/4 cup thinly sliced red onion
  • 2 tablespoons capers
  • 1 tablespoon finely chopped fresh chives
  • salt and pepper (to taste)

Instructions

  1. Step 1: Add the cream cheese, dill, and lemon juice to a small bowl and stir until combined.
  2. Step 2: Season to taste with salt and pepper and stir again.
  3. Step 3: Spread the cream cheese mixture on the toasts.
  4. Step 4: Top with the smoked salmon, red onion, capers, and chives.

Notes

For a lower fat version, use low fat cream cheese. If using dried dill instead of fresh, reduce the amount to 1 tablespoon.
