Description
This smoky Chipotle Chicken is marinated with chipotle peppers in adobo, lime juice, and warm spices, then cooked until juicy and flavorful. Slice or chop it for burrito bowls, tacos, salads, and easy weeknight meals.

- 2 6-ounce chicken breasts
- 4 tablespoons chipotle sauce
- 1 tablespoon lime juice
- 1 tablespoon chipotle powder
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- ½ teaspoon cumin
- Salt to taste
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
Instructions
- Step 1: Add the chicken to a wide flat bowl or to a sealable plastic bag.
- Step 2: Whisk together the chipotle sauce, lime juice, chipotle powder, garlic powder, onion powder, cumin and salt, then pour over the chicken and rub the sauce in.
- Step 3: Cover, then refrigerate and marinade at least 1 hour or overnight.
- Step 4: Heat a large pan or grill to medium-high heat and add the olive oil.
- Step 5: Cook the chicken breasts about 5 minutes, then reduce heat to medium, flip, and cook another 7-8 minutes until the internal temperature reaches 165 degrees F.
- Step 6: Let the breasts rest for 5 minutes, then slice and serve.
Notes
For a grilled option, preheat the grill to medium-high heat, oil the grates, and grill the marinated chicken for about 6-7 minutes per side until the internal temperature reaches 165°F.
