Description

This easy Cilantro Lime Shrimp recipe is perfect for busy weeknights. Ready in just 10 minutes, it features juicy shrimp tossed in a vibrant lime and cilantro sauce.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound raw shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1/2 cup lime juice
  • 2 tablespoons water
  • 1 tablespoon honey or maple syrup
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon cumin
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika
  • Black pepper to taste
  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh cilantro

Instructions

  1. Step: Drain off any excess liquid from the shrimp and pat them dry with a paper towel.
  2. Step: Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Once hot, add the olive oil and swirl to coat the pan.
  3. Step: Add the shrimp to the skillet and toss to coat with the olive oil.
  4. Step: Cook the shrimp for 4-5 minutes, stirring often, until pink and fully cooked through.
  5. Step: While the shrimp cooks, combine the lime juice, water, honey or maple syrup, salt, chili powder, cumin, paprika, black pepper, and fresh cilantro in a small bowl. Whisk well.
  6. Step: Once the shrimp is cooked, pour the cilantro lime sauce into the skillet and stir to coat.
  7. Step: Simmer for approximately 1 minute to allow the flavors to meld, then remove from heat.
  8. Step: Adjust seasonings to your liking and serve immediately.

Notes

Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for 3-4 days. This dish can be frozen for up to 2 months. To make as a freezer meal, combine raw shrimp and the sauce ingredients in a freezer-safe bag, label, and freeze flat. Thaw in the refrigerator before cooking.
