Description
This Baked Teriyaki Salmon recipe offers a perfect blend of sweet and savory flavors, bringing a taste of Japanese-American fusion to your dinner table.
Ingredients
Scale
- 4 fresh salmon fillets (6 oz each)
- 1/2 cup teriyaki sauce
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tsp fresh ginger, grated
- 2 tbsp brown sugar or honey
- 1 tsp sesame oil
- 2 green onions, thinly sliced
- 1 tbsp sesame seeds (optional)
Instructions
- Marinade: In a bowl, whisk together the teriyaki sauce, minced garlic, grated ginger, brown sugar (or honey), and sesame oil.
- Marinate: Place the salmon fillets in a shallow dish and pour the marinade over them, cover and refrigerate for 30 minutes to 2 hours.
- Preheat: Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
- Prepare: Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or lightly grease a baking dish.
- Arrange: Remove the salmon from the marinade, letting excess drip off, and place them skin-side down on the prepared baking sheet.
- Glaze: Pour any remaining marinade into a small saucepan and simmer it for 5 minutes to use as a glaze.
- Bake: Bake the salmon for 12-15 minutes, or until it flakes easily with a fork and reaches an internal temperature of 145°F (63°C).
- Finish: In the last 2-3 minutes of cooking, brush the reduced marinade over the salmon for an extra flavor boost.
- Rest: Once done, let it rest for a few minutes before serving.
Notes
Serve over a bed of fluffy white rice, brown rice, cauliflower rice, or zucchini noodles. Pair with steamed broccoli or bok choy for a complete meal.
