Description
Crispy, golden-brown chicken wings made in the oven without the need for deep frying. This simple, reliable method uses baking powder to ensure a crunchy texture while keeping the meat juicy and tender.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 pounds chicken wings
- 1 tbsp baking powder
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 1/2 tsp garlic powder
- 1/2 tsp paprika
- 1 tbsp olive oil (optional)
Instructions
- Step: Preheat oven to 425°F and line a baking sheet with foil. Place a wire rack on top.
- Step: Pat wings completely dry with paper towels.
- Step: Toss wings with baking powder, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and paprika in a large bowl until evenly coated.
- Step: Arrange wings in a single layer on the wire rack, ensuring they do not overlap.
- Step: Bake for 40–45 minutes, flipping the wings halfway through, until they are golden brown and crispy.
- Step: Serve immediately plain or tossed with your favorite sauce.
Notes
For the best results, ensure the wings are very dry before applying the seasoning. Avoid using baking soda as a substitute, as it will affect the flavor. If using a convection oven, adjust the temperature to 400°F and reduce time to 35-40 minutes.
