Description

This honey glazed salmon recipe is baked in the oven and done in 30 minutes. The glaze is made with coconut aminos, garlic, lime juice, and honey, coating the salmon before baking it to flaky perfection. Perfect served with rice, quinoa, or roasted vegetables.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1/4 cup lime juice (juice from 1 lime)
  • 3 Tablespoons honey
  • 6 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 1/3 cup coconut aminos
  • 2 teaspoons cornstarch
  • 4 (6-ounce) salmon filets
  • 1 Tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • Pinch of red pepper flakes
  • Chopped green onion or parsley for serving (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat: Preheat the oven to 425°F and arrange the oven rack to the middle position. Line a large sheet pan with parchment paper.
  2. Make the glaze: Whisk the honey glaze ingredients in a large oven-safe skillet until the cornstarch is dissolved. Bring to a gentle boil over medium-high heat, stirring for 1-2 minutes until thickened. Transfer to a separate bowl.
  3. Season: Pat the salmon dry. Drizzle with 1 Tablespoon of olive oil and toss with salt, paprika, and red pepper flakes.
  4. Sear: Heat a drizzle of olive oil in the same pan over medium-high heat. Sear salmon flesh-side-down for 2-3 minutes.
  5. Glaze: Flip the salmon over and drizzle a small amount of the prepared glaze on top of each filet. Spread with the back of a spoon.
  6. Bake: Transfer the skillet to the oven and bake for 8-11 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 125-130°F.
  7. Serve: Brush the remaining glaze over the salmon and garnish with green onion or parsley before serving.

Notes

Salmon can be prepared skin-on or skin-off; keeping the skin on helps prevent the fish from drying out during the baking process. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 days.
